Who We Are and What We Stand For

EUtopia starts as the project of one German and one Greek; two people who were born on different sides of the wall that once divided Europe. The wall fell and those two people met, because they shared common ideas about the world, Europe and politics. They decided that they wanted to share those ideas with the rest of the world. Both had previously published their thoughts about European integration in blogs or student newspapers. Both saw European integration as a positive force in world politics, and for the citizens of Europe. Both have however grown up, and with age, one always hopes, comes maturity. Their fascination with European integration has evolved into more critical directions, as they both felt that their political ideas did not correspond to the way that the EU was really developing.

So here we are, both loving the idea of European integration, but both disapproving of what the EU has become. Europe is an important part of our lives, in both positive and negative ways, and the aim of this blog is to talk about European integration in critical terms. We believe that another Europe outside the bondage of global capitalism is possible, one that is united instead of being divided, one that harnesses the market instead of complying to its will. This blog is therefore not politically neutral, but it doesn't serve as the platform of a political party; instead, it is a platform of ideas.

We want the blog to be multilingual, because we want to reach Europeans from all parts of our continent. By no means do we intend the authors of this blog to be limited to ourselves, and we therefore appeal to everyone who shares our ideas to put them into words, and to publish them here. Qui sommes-nous et que voulons-nous

EUtopia est le projet commun d'une grecque et d'un allemand de l'est, qui après s'être rencontrés grâce à leur passion commune pour la politique et surtout la politique de ce continent sur lequel ils sont nés, l'Europe. Ils ont décider qu'ils voulaient partager leurs idées avec le reste du monde, ayant tous deux par le passé écrit leurs opinions politique, que ce soit sur des blogs ou bien dans des journaux étudiants. Tous deux voyaient l'intégration européenne d'un bon oeil et étaient persuadés que plus d'intégration était positif pour les citoyens de l'Union. Mais tous deux ont grandis et muri. Leur fascination pour l'Europe a pris un tournant différent, plus critique, en voyant que cette Europe qu'ils ont aimé se transformait en une entité qui ne représentait plus leur idéaux politique.

Donc, nous voici! Tous deux aimons l'idée Européenne mais désapprouvant Sommet après Sommet La transformation de cette Union Européenne. Qu'on le veuille ou non, l'Union a un impact immense dans nos vies et le but de ce blog est de parler de l'Union Européenne de manière critique mais pas sceptique.  Nous croyons très fort qu'une autre Europe est possible. Une Europe qui ne serait plus soumise au capitalisme et à la globalisation, une Europe unie plutôt que divisée, une Europe qui régule les marchés plutôt qu'en être à leur merci. Ce blog ne ce veut donc pas politiquement neutre, il  ne sert cependant pas comme plateforme de partis politiques, c'est plus une plateforme d'idées.

Nous voulons que ce blog soit écrit en plusieurs langues, parce que nous voulons qu'il soit lu par le plus de personnes possible. De plus nous ne voulons pas nous limiter à deux auteurs et nous faisons appel à vous, si vous partager nos idées vous pouvez nous contacter via eutopiablog@gmail.com

Wer wir sind, und wofür wir stehen

EUtopia beginnt als das Projekt einer Griechen und eines Deutschen; zwei Menschen, die auf verschiedenen Seiten der Mauer geboren wurden, die einst Europa durchtrennte. Die Mauer fiel und die zwei Menschen trafen sich, weil sie gemeinsame Ideen über die Welt, Europa und die Politik teilten. Sie sind dazu entschlossen, nun ihre Ideen der Welt mitzuteilen. Beide haben bereits zuvor ihre Gedanken in Blogs und Studentenzeitungen aufgeschrieben, und Beide sahen die europäische Integration bisher als positive Kraft für die Welt, und für die Bürger Europas. Beide sind allerdings erwachsener geworden, und mit dem Alter, so sagt man, kommt die Reife. Ihre Faszination für Europa hat sich in eine kritischere Richtung entwickelt, weil sie beide das Gefühl hatten, dass ihre politischen Ideale nicht mit der politischen Realität der europäischen Union übereinstimmten.

Hier sind wir also, und obwohl wir beide die Idee der europäischen Integration lieben, stimmen wir doch nicht mit dem, was aus der EU geworden ist, überein. Europa ist ein wichtiger Teil unseres Lebens, sowohl positiv als auch negativ, und das Ziel dieses Blogs ist es, die europäische Integration aus einer kritischen Sichtweise zu betrachten. Wir glauben, dass ein anderes Europa außerhalb der Fesseln des globalen Kapitalismus möglich ist, ein Europa, das vereint ist und nicht geteilt, ein Europa, das dem Markt Grenzen setzt anstatt vor seinem Willen zu kapitulieren. Dieser Blog ist deswegen nicht politisch neutral, dient aber auch nicht als Plattform einer politischen Partei. Er versteht sich als Ideenplattform.

Wir wollen, dass dieser Blog mehrsprachig wird, um Menschen aus allen Ecken unseres Kontinents zu erreichen. Unter keinen Umständen wollen wir die einzigen Autoren dieses Blogs bleiben, und fordern hiermit alle die unsere Ideen teilen dazu auf diese auszuschreiben, und hier zu veröffentlichen.
